2016 Reebok CrossFit Invitational Team USA

Who Is Team USA?
The teams for this global competition are coed. That means two men and two women. For this year’s Invitational, Team USA is made up of an incredible roster. These men and women really have a chance to win it all this year. Team USA is Rich Froning Jr., otherwise known as the “Fittest Man in History,” Ben Smith, Brooke Wells, and Kari Pearce. Below we’ll take a closer look at each.

The Men

Rich Froning Jr.

Also known as the Fittest Man In History because of his record competing in the annual CrossFit Games, this man really needs no introduction. If you’re a CrossFit enthusiast, then you know all about him. If you’re not, read his bio here.

Ben Smith

Smith is no stranger to competition. As it stands, no man has competed more in the history of the CrossFit Games. Smith has competed eight times. He won his first championship in 2015. In fact, he has more individual CrossFit Games medals than any other man, except Froning Jr. That’s why pairing the duo together makes for a monster team.

The Women

Brooke Wells

Brooke Wells is one of the brightest young stars in CrossFit. Even though she does not have the experience of her male counterparts on Team USA, she brings a mean competitive spirit. This 21-year-old finished sixth in the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games. Wells recorded 10 top-10 finishes but finished outside of the top 35 in three events for a 6th place finish overall.

Kari Pearce

Kari Pearce was one of the biggest stories in 2015. She went from CrossFit beginner to qualifying for the Games in the span of just a few months. In 2016, she placed 5th overall and was the highest ranking American woman at the event. She finished 1st in “Murph” and “The Separator” at this year’s Games as well.
