- Stay away from the adhesive side of the tape while beginning application. Touching the adhesive can be easy to do but it can also keep the tape from sticking well.
- Though the tape is stretchy it’s important to keep it from stretching to the limits. This can result in rolling and curling and that means it will not stay in place as long as it should.
- KT tape sticks to the skin. That means each end of the strip should end on the skin. You can crisscross pieces over one another but be sure the end of each strip is on the skin at the end of the application.
- Kinesiology tape is activated by heat. After application, rub the tape from the center to one end briskly so that you are creating friction that will help apply heat and activate the adhesive part of the tape. Do this to both ends of the tape.
