Though it might be hard to wrap your head around, those of us who had a typical Thanksgiving meal can understand how the calories rack up, once we really think about it. Now that you’re thinking about how many calories you are going to be consuming for at least one meal, possibly two, you’re probably also thinking about how you can burn those calories quickly and easily. Exactly how much exercising will it take to burn the dinner off? That depends, especially because everyone is different. However, we do have some great exercises you can do after meals to help burn as many calories as possible! These are great in addition to your regular workout or ones you can incorporate on your days off.
- 50 Jumping Jack Squats – Between each jumping jack, be sure to clap your hands at the top, over your head. Also incorporate squats by adding them in when you come down each time. They will be slower than normal jumping jacks but also burn many more calories and offer a great cardio workout for Thanksgiving day!
- 60 High Knees – These are great for getting a pattern going and burning a lot of calories. Stand tall and lift one knee to your waist and then switch. Do this at least 30 times per knee. It’ll be an awesome “in between meals” type of exercise that gets your body moving and calories burning!
- 20 Thrusters – Using dumbbells or other types of weights, squat down in a 90 degree angle while holding the weights above your shoulders, just barely. Then, as you stand, push the weights up in the air. Keep your abs and core tight while doing these.
