Friendly CrossFit Exercises for Beginners

  • Lifting weights is an important part of working out. It helps to strengthen your muscles and make you stronger overall. To get started with heavy lifting, consider doing three deadlifts, three overhead presses, and five back squats.
  • Within three minutes, do 15 lunges and 15 sit-ups. Then, take a two minute rest break. Repeat this exercise three times.
  • And a 10 minute period, try to do 15 air squats, five pull-ups and 10 push-ups. Take a two to three minute break in between and then repeat as many times as possible. Take a break after each round.
  • For a nice outdoor workout, consider 12 pull-ups, 21 American KB swings and a 400m run.
  • With a 15 minute timer set, try 20 sit-ups, 20 air squats, 20 push-ups, and 20 lunges. If you still have time left after doing this, rest and then repeat.
  • Do 10 wall balls, 10 dumbbell overhead presses, 10 pull-ups and 10 squats. Set a 15 minute timer for these and don’t rest between reps. See how many times you can repeat this.

There are several variations to these workouts that you can try or come up with one on your own. Just remember to rest and try not to overdo it in your first few workouts. Here, you’ll find a workout that you can try after your beginner stage has come to an end. This is a great way to progress on to a more advanced workout without jumping in too quickly:

  • 10 burpees
  • 20 box jumps
  • 10 burpees
  • 30 kettlebell swings
  • 10 burpees
  • 30 alternating lunges
  • 10 burpees
  • 20 air squats
