Even More Endurance Tips

Rest Less Between Sets – Yes, you need to get your rest to be able to build endurance, but you also need to rest less. Confused? It breaks down like this, resting between sets allows you to get your breath back and prepare for your next set of exercises. People will typically rest between 30 and 120 seconds. If you cut this rest out, or dramatically down, then your stamina and endurance will increase. Try to push yourself and only rest between sets if you’re physically unable to continue. A good goal for starting out would be to try and complete 3 sets, back to back to back without resting.

Combine Cardio with Heavy Days – One of the top ways to increase your endurance and stamina is by combining cardio sets with your heavy lifting days. Most people only reserve one day for heavy lifting, and then a few more days are reserved for cardio only exercises. Combining the two will help you hit endurance gains quickly. For instance, a great set would be bench press, pull-ups, and then trying to run a mile as fast as possible, or sprinting a quarter mile.

Go Hybrid – Combine hybrid exercises in with your workouts. This will help you be more explosive in your workouts as well. For instance, try your hand at jumping pull-ups, or bicep curl lunges. Any exercise that gets more muscle groups working during your set will improve your stamina because this will activate more heart muscles.

Explosive Workouts – Being explosive takes a lot more energy than normal workouts. These exercises will help you build both strength and stamina. You’ll also get faster and more agile. Adding burpees, box jumps, and power push-ups to your workouts is a great starting point for learning how to be explosive.

Hopefully these tips will help your endurance reach new levels. Just remember to train smart, eat clean, and drink plenty of water so your fitness levels skyrockets.
