Rest well. No matter how much you change your diet to include more health and nutrition, not getting enough sleep will have an adverse effect on your goals. Work to improve your sleep patterns.
Journal. Sometimes listing out your goals, accomplishments, and other changes you’ve made gives you a better idea of where you were, where you are, and where you’re headed. Seeing your results on paper will be great motivation. It’ll also help you know what’s working and what’s not.
Fight cravings. While on your journey towards better health and nutrition, you will have cravings for junk food. Instead of giving in, chew gum, brush your teeth, or take a five minute walk. If you can, wait 20 to 30 minutes and see if you still have a craving. You can also drink a large glass of water or tea to help.
Eat more often. Often people wait to sit down to eat until they are starving. When you haven’t had enough to eat for the day it can lead to overeating. Instead of only eating two or three large meals per day try eating five or six small meals. This will help keep you from feeling famished at meal times.
