Paleo Valentine’s Day Recipes

However, it’s often difficult to stick to a Paleo diet when dining out. Instead of heading out this year, consider creating your own delicious Paleo friendly Valentine’s Day dinner. Seafood lovers can take advantage of this fairly easy delicious dinner without having to slave over a stove for most of the afternoon and into the evening. Lobster tails, shrimp, salmon, and scallops are all great choices.

Just choose your favorite and add Paleo friendly seasonings to taste. Then, sauté or pan fry in a cast-iron pan until done, or finish off the dish in the oven. Sometimes, seasonings can be tricky when it comes to staying Paleo friendly. However, you can make your own Old Bay seasoning by following the instructions below.

Add together 1 tablespoon of celery salt, 1/8 of a teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 of a teaspoon of paprika, 1/8 of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, one pinch of ground nutmeg, one pinch of ground dry mustard, one pinch of ground cardamom, one pinch of ground allspice, one pinch of ground cinnamon, one pinch of ground cloves and one pinch of ground ginger. This seasoning will be fantastic on any type of seafood you choose to prepare for Valentine’s Day this year.

With your seafood choice, consider also preparing asparagus, burnt broccoli, or a medley of steamed vegetables. You can also use the Old Bay seasoning on these veggies. For the asparagus, coat the fresh vegetable in at least 2 tablespoons of olive oil and bake in the oven on 350 for 20 minutes. If you choose to make burnt broccoli, coat it in olive oil and bake at 375 for at least 20 minutes or until you notice the broccoli begins to burn. Just like its name, you will need to achieve a burnt appearance in order for the broccoli to crisp up in the oven.
