Tips for a Stronger Grip

Farmer Carry – This might be my favorite exercise for building grip strength. You can use kettlebells, dumbbells, hex or straight bars, large water bottles, two suitcases, filled garbage bags, or anything that you can carry with your hands.

Pick up one, or as many as you can, and walk with them for as far as you can. Try to push yourself, and to make the exercise even more challenging, try climbing a hill, walking a parking deck, or hit the stairs. This is not only a great exercise that trains grip strength, but it’s also an excellent overall body workout too!

Dead-lifts with Sandbags – Take a few of your strong trash bags and fill them sand. Load them into a duffel or canvas bag. Next, pick the bag up using a dead-lift movement. Do not use the handles of the bag as these might rip or tear. This will increase both your pinch and crush grip.

We hope these tips have helped you on your quest towards developing a Herculean grip. There are many more exercises that you can incorporate, just hit the web if you need more examples. If you want to push yourself even further with your fitness levels, check out how Invoke can help.
